Description
Meta's Reality Labs hardware organization is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead printed circuit board (PCB) and flexible printed circuit assembly (FPCA) sourcing and supply strategy for next-generation consumer electronics and wearable devices. In this role, you will own the end-to-end supplier strategy for PCB and FPC components across Meta's hardware product portfolio, including AR/VR headsets, smart glasses, and other wearable platforms. You will drive technology roadmap alignment with key suppliers, lead cross-functional teams through new product introductions, and develop sourcing strategies that balance cost, quality, supply continuity, and innovation to support Meta's ambitious hardware ambitions.Strategic Sourcing Manager, PCB/FPCA Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute long-term PCB and FPCA sourcing strategies aligned to Meta's hardware product roadmap across AR/VR and wearable device programs
- Lead supplier identification, qualification, and selection for rigid PCB, flexible PCB, and rigid-flex assemblies used in consumer electronics and wearable form factors
- Drive cross-functional alignment across hardware engineering, supply chain, quality, and manufacturing operations to support new product introduction milestones for PCB and FPCA components
- Manage strategic supplier relationships, including technology roadmap reviews, capacity planning, and long-term supply agreements for PCB and FPCA partners
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks for PCB and FPCA commodities, developing contingency strategies to ensure program continuity across multiple product lines
- Benchmark PCB and FPCA manufacturing technologies, materials, and supplier capabilities to inform sourcing decisions and influence internal design-for-manufacturability standards
- Lead commercial negotiations including pricing, tooling, NRE, and contractual terms with PCB and FPCA suppliers to optimize total cost of ownership
- Collaborate with hardware engineering teams to influence PCB stack-up design, material selection, and FPCA routing decisions that improve manufacturability and supply chain resilience
- Contribute to commodity strategy and organizational sourcing goals by sharing market intelligence, supplier performance data, and technology insights across the broader hardware sourcing team
- Coach peers and cross-functional partners on PCB and FPCA sourcing best practices, process optimization, and supplier engagement approaches
Minimum Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain management, or commodity management with a focus on PCB, FPCA, or related electronic interconnect technologies
- Experience leading cross-functional teams through new product introduction and product development processes for consumer electronics or wearable hardware programs
- Experience developing and executing supplier strategies including technology evaluation, qualification, commercial negotiation, and long-term relationship management for PCB or FPCA suppliers
- Experience identifying supply chain risks and developing mitigation strategies across complex, multi-program hardware portfolios
- Experience communicating sourcing strategy, supplier performance, and program status to technical and business stakeholders at multiple levels of an organization
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in hardware engineering or manufacturing process engineering that supports design-for-manufacturability collaboration with PCB and FPCA suppliers
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
- Familiarity with PCB manufacturing processes such as HDI stack-up design, surface finish selection, controlled impedance, and FPCA laminate materials relevant to AR/VR or wearable device constraints
- Experience sourcing PCB and FPCA components for miniaturized or wearable consumer electronics, including rigid-flex and high-density interconnect designs
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
- Experience managing suppliers with manufacturing operations in Asia, including supplier development and capacity ramp activities
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
