An exciting opportunity exists at Raytheon for an engineering manager to join our semiconductor foundry engineering leadership team within the RF Microelectronics / Module Design and Foundry Services Department.
The Sr. Section Lead - Semiconductor Process Integration and Yield in this role would be responsible for directing a group of skilled process integration and yield engineers to fabricate advanced microelectronic devices in accordance with various technologies in support of Raytheon Technologies business products. These technologies consist of mature processes and products as well as ones undergoing technology demonstration, transition to production and low-rate initial production. The ideal candidate will have experience in III-V semiconductor processing, preferably in GaAs, GaN or GaSb. They will review and oversee project schedules and cost, determine team priorities, review process changes, identify and champion process improvement opportunities, work to improve process yields, and interface with operations management. They will facilitate the effective allocation of team resources in ways to support the oversight of the foundry processes, assist in identifying program and development funding needs, and foster open communication between functional teams. Presence on the foundry floor is essential for understanding technical and logistical issues. The role requires a large degree of multitasking with attention to detail while managing priorities depending on the nature of the problems and the commitments to customers and programs.
The candidate should also have Cost Account Manager experience and/or Task Leadership experience. The candidate will work with the department manager on manpower and resource planning, controlling overhead costs, developing and delivering employee performance reviews, and developing/reviewing proposals. Also, support to management at the Hardware Engineering leadership level and the engineering level is required.
Perhaps most importantly, the candidate must have a willingness to relate to and support the needs of their employees. The section leader will have a sphere of up to 20 employees who will depend on the section lead to help guide their careers and to maximize their potential and effectiveness.
This role will be 100% on-site and based in Andover, MA.
What You Will Do:
- Review process changes, identify and champion product improvement opportunities, work to improve product yields, and interface with operations management
- Facilitate the effective allocation of team resources in ways to support the oversight of the product performance at the next higher-level assembly and establish correlations to wafer performance and foundry processes
- Review and oversee project schedules and costs, drive product yield investigations and understanding of failure modes, while developing corrective action plans across the process engineering workcenters
- Work with the department manager on manpower and resource planning, controlling overhead costs, developing and delivering employee performance reviews, and developing/reviewing proposals
- Support management at the department, directorate, and functional leadership levels
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a Bachelors Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) Field
- A minimum of ten (10) or more years of relevant experience with semiconductor processing or process integration (An advanced STEM degree could count for 3 years of experience)
- The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Value:

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
