We are seeking a Senior Program Controls Planner/Scheduler to join our team. This high-visibility role supports a major development program and requires deep expertise in Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and integrated planning. The Program Controls Planner / Scheduler owns the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), ensuring its accuracy, integrity, and effectiveness as a predictive management tool. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, cross-functional collaboration, proactive stakeholder engagement, and a commitment to schedule quality and EVMS compliance.
What You Will Do
- Manage a monthly program controls cadence, coordinating cost and schedule activities across weekly reporting cycles.
- Lead month-end close activities by ensuring alignment and reconciliation of cost and schedule data between accounting systems and the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
- Collaborate with cost analysts and scheduling analysts to maintain data consistency across multiple systems, including baseline schedules, forecast dates, and earned value metrics.
- Prepare and deliver internal leadership and external customer reports by analyzing program performance data and validating reporting accuracy.
- Support reporting requirements for prime contractors, government customers, and executive leadership through comprehensive performance analysis and data presentation.
- Execute schedule change management processes by updating project status, incorporating progress, and maintaining the Integrated Master Schedule.
- Monitor schedule health using established metrics to ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) Earned Value Management (EVM) requirements.
- Conduct Schedule Risk Assessments (SRA) to evaluate schedule confidence, assess critical path accuracy, and identify potential delivery risks.
- Analyze critical path and schedule performance to support risk-informed decision-making and improve forecast reliability.
- Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and audit requirements by maintaining high-quality schedule data and documentation.
- Build stakeholder confidence by providing accurate program performance reporting, maintaining schedule integrity, and supporting internal and external audits.
- Coordinate continuous planning activities by completing ongoing schedule updates, resolving outstanding actions, and preparing for subsequent monthly reporting cycles.

Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
- Experience using scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent.
- Understanding of EVMS principles, DCMA 14-Point Assessment, and schedule health best practices.
- Experience working and analyzing large datasets, identify trends, and communicate insights effectively.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience in program planning, scheduling, and EVMS on large, complex government or customer-funded programs.
- Experience supporting Engineering & Manufacturing Development (EMD) or similar lifecycle phases.
- Prior involvement with cost-redeterminable or cost-type contracts.
- EVMS or scheduling-related certifications (e.g., PMI-SP, EVMP, AACEI).
- Familiarity with risk-adjusted scheduling, Monte Carlo analysis, or advanced forecasting techniques.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
