Join us as a dynamic EH&S leader responsible for overseeing Environmental, Health, and Safety programs at our Windsor Locks, CT site. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with Senior and Line Management to develop and execute effective EH&S programs that drive significant performance improvements aligned with company EH&S requirements and strategic plans.
As a strategic leader, you will provide direction, leadership, and technical expertise to enhance EH&S initiatives, ensuring a safe workplace and full compliance with local, state, federal, and RTX EH&S regulations. We are seeking a proactive, dedicated professional with strong leadership, communication, and analytical abilities to drive excellence in EH&S and support our business operations effectively.
What You Will Do:
- Provides leadership and builds partnership at site across all levels of the organization to foster EH&S culture improvement.
- Partners with site leadership and supervision to ensure EH&S regulatory compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
- Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise; establish and support timely incident investigation process to prevent reoccurrences.
- Ensures timely risk assessments and adequate controls for EH&S processes; oversees comprehensive EH&S training program; maintains readiness for oversight audits (assurance reviews, program evaluations, compliance reviews, OSHA VPP, ISO 14001, etc.)
- Builds synergies between EH&S and Facilities and Equipment Management for efficient deployment of resources to achieve mutual goals.
- Provides timely information and guidance to the site EH&S leadership team, site EH&S committee and Sub-committees, including EH&S performance trends and root cause corrective actions for injuries and near misses.
- Provide technical expertise and consultation to the site's EH&S management committee on environmental sustainability initiatives to minimize water use, greenhouse gas generation, hazardous waste generation and increase recycling rate.
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 5%-10% of the time

- Gain experience in responding to emergencies and urgent issues, establishing efficient incident investigation processes to prevent future occurrences.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience oran Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- 5+ years prior experience in EH&S
- Ability to communicate and present to all levels of the organization
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Prior leadership experience
- Experience with legal EH&S requirements including OSHA/EPA requirements
- Safety certifications
- Experience in conducting technical assessments of processes and equipment in a manufacturing environment, and both factory and office ergonomic assessments.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
