McLane is seeking a Sr DevOps Engineer to support the development, deployment, automation, and operational management of enterprise applications and integration platforms.
This role is ideal for an engineer with hands-on experience in containerized environments, cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and developer enablement tools. The successful candidate will help build and maintain modern DevOps practices that empower development teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable applications.
The ideal candidate will possess strong working knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD platforms, infrastructure automation, deployment strategies, secrets management, and Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs).
This is a hybrid position which will require the candidate to report and work from the office at least three days a week. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute radius from Temple, TX.

What You'll Do:
- Design, implement, and support CI/CD pipelines that enable rapid and reliable software delivery.
- Manage and deploy containerized workloads using Kubernetes and Docker technologies.
- Support cloud-native application deployment, orchestration, and operational processes.
- Configure and maintain Kubernetes resources including Deployments, Pods, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, and Ingress components.
- Develop and maintain Helm charts to streamline application deployments.
- Implement and support secrets management solutions across development and production environments.
- Partner with engineering teams to improve software delivery, deployment automation, and operational efficiency.
- Support Git-based development workflows and branching strategies.
- Implement and promote modern deployment patterns such as Blue-Green, Canary, Rolling Deployments, Feature Flags, and A/B Testing.
- Contribute to Internal Developer Platform (IDP) initiatives that improve developer productivity and self-service capabilities.
- Troubleshoot deployment, infrastructure, integration, and performance issues across environments.
- Collaborate with software engineers, architects, platform teams, and security teams to implement DevOps best practices.
- Create automation scripts, operational documentation, and deployment standards.
- Support monitoring, observability, and performance management initiatives across enterprise applications.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Integration Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or related technical roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with containerization technologies including Docker.
- Experience working with Kubernetes (K8s) environments.
- Working knowledge of:
- Deployments
- Pods
- Services
- ConfigMaps
- Secrets
- Image Repositories/Image Streams
- Namespace Management
- Experience with cloud platforms and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience managing and supporting application orchestration and deployment automation.
- Hands-on experience with Secrets Management solutions and practices.
- Experience building, supporting, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency with one or more CI/CD platforms including:
- Jenkins
- Azure DevOps
- GitHub Actions
- Experience with source control management and Git workflows.
- Knowledge of Git branching strategies including:
- GitFlow
- Trunk-Based Development
- Experience implementing modern deployment strategies including:
- Blue-Green Deployments
- Canary Releases
- Rolling Deployments
- Feature Flags
- A/B Testing
- Experience developing and maintaining Helm charts.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
