Collins Aerospace is currently seeking a qualified candidate for an experienced project lead in our Military Avionics Flight Management Applications department located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The teams within the department are comprised of cross-functional engineers working in an AGILE environment (approximately 6-10 people) focused on the design and development of software only products. Role is hybrid in either Cedar Rapids, IA or Huntsville, AL, but remote is possible based on candidate.
This position requires the commitment of professional working hours that may require the employee to extend beyond a typical 7:30am to 4:30pm workday, or beyond a 40-hour work week.
Product Summary:
FACE (Future Airborne Capability Environment) - Our software products are used to support not only navigation, flight planning, and guidance with our MFMS-1000 solution, but also hazard avoidance in real time as part of our Avoidance Re-Router (ARR-7000), including a software layer in a distributed, layered architecture (like the FACE Technical Standard) responsible for moving data between applications our Transport Segment Services (TSS) and which are being deployed on a variety of emerging platforms and next generation pursuits.

What You Will Do:
- This job is unique in that it is a technical project manager role with oversite of both program and internal project scope for the ARR-7000, MFMS-1000, and TSS Product Lines.
- Expectations include leading a cross-functional team daily and coordinating regularly with engineering and project management to ensure success of the product and program.
- This individual will lead quality, cost, scheduling, and scope while navigating the various team dynamics present.
- Additionally, as a product line, this role entails working with each products architect, the VSL, and business development to define the product line roadmaps and drive for funding to ensure the product line is ready for the next mission as a function of AOP/SFP planning.
- Demonstrated time management skills - ability to work unsupervised, multi-task, and coordinate work.
- Succeed while leading in a team environment.
- Manage work-processes, optimization methods, and risk management tools for large or complex projects.
- Monitors budgets, cost, effectiveness, and reliability of activities and make recommendations to optimize resources, prioritize spending, and ensure that standards are met.
- Willingness to travel (domestic and international <35%).
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
- DO-178 or similar certification-based development experience.
- Experience in the design and development of deliverable software (production or consumer facing).

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
