Description
Meta develops and deploys technologies that support connections, communities, and economic growth. The Public Policy Manager, Korea, will lead our Public Policy efforts in a rapidly evolving tech policy landscape. This role oversees strategies and stakeholder engagement to achieve regulatory and policy priorities aligned with Meta's operations and strategy in Korea.As Public Policy Manager for Korea, you will direct policy strategy, engagement, and regulatory initiatives. You will also provide guidance on policy matters at the intersection of technology, society, and government, with a focus on the impact of Meta's products, platforms, and open-source technologies in the context of Korea.Public Policy Manager, Korea Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Strategy: Lead Meta's policy engagement, define and implement public policy strategies for Korea, ensuring alignment with Meta's global, regional, and local objectives
- Advise Meta management on public policy developments in Korea as part of the APAC policy leadership team
- Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with government, policymakers, regulators, civil society, businesses, and industry associations, especially those engaged with AI and digital policy
- Represent Meta in policy discussions at high levels of the Korean government, in forums, expert panels, and the media
- Policy Development and Advocacy: Shape discussions on legislative, regulatory, and multiple issues such as content moderation, AI and digital infrastructure
- Communicate the societal impact and policy implications of Meta's products in the Korea
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with other leaders and teams across legal, communications, product, operations, and AI research to enable coordinated policy approaches and advocacy
- Monitor regulatory trends and emerging issues across the digital space in Korea and work with global teams to develop proactive solutions
Minimum Qualifications:
- 12+ years of experience in public policy, regulatory affairs, law, government, technology, or related fields
- Demonstrated understanding of the policy landscape in Korea with a robust network among relevant stakeholders
- Proven experience developing and implementing policy strategies at scale, balancing technological advancement and regulatory requirements
- Proven track record of leadership, cross functional team management, and stakeholder engagements
- Experienced in communicating and presenting effectively in Korean and English, as the role requires direct engagement with Korean government officials, regulators, and stakeholders as well as coordination with global teams
- Demonstrated track record of leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing outcomes within an organization
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in digital technology policy in a multinational environment
- Demonstrated experience engaging with an established network of government and non-government stakeholders with a demonstrated understanding of the political landscape in Korea to drive policy objectives
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
- Track record of maintaining high ethical standards and professionalism,
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
