Description
Meta is seeking a Public Affairs Director to join the Strategic Response Communications team. This role will lead media relations and drive strategic communications priorities across some of the most complex and high-profile issues facing Meta. The ideal candidate is a seasoned communications professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, brings strong relationships with national and political media, and can develop and execute communications strategies that advance Meta's reputation and policy objectives.Public Affairs Director, Strategic Response Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute proactive and reactive media relations strategies on key policy, political, and corporate issues.
- Serve as a spokesperson and manage relationships with top-tier national, political, and trade reporters.
- Drive strategic communications planning around emerging issues, working cross-functionally with policy, legal, product, and executive communications teams.
- Identify and anticipate reputational risks and develop rapid response plans to mitigate potential challenges.
- Craft messaging, talking points, statements, and other communications materials for a range of audiences.
- Advise senior leadership on media strategy, landscape, and stakeholder dynamics.
- Manage multiple workstreams and priorities simultaneously in a high-volume, fast-moving environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to align external communications with broader company strategy.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience working in communications, policy, public affairs, or marketing
- Experience managing complex, high-profile issues in a corporate, political, or agency setting
- Demonstrated track record of building and maintaining relationships with national and political media
- Experience developing strategic communications plans and messaging frameworks
- Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to distill complex topics for external audiences
- Experience working cross-functionally with policy, legal, and executive stakeholders

$223,000/year to $287,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
