We are currently recruiting talent on behalf our nonprofit network who has a position for a Part Time Laborer! This position is part of the AbilityOne Program. Candidates selected to be an AbilityOne participating employee must provide documentation verifying a qualifying significant disability, as required by U.S. AbilityOne Commission policies. THE OPPORTUNITY: As a Part Time Laborer, you will be responsible for lifting and loading, organizing and provisioning ships with necessary supplies and equipment in the Norfolk area. You will work closely with the provisioning team to ensure smooth and efficient operations. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: Assist with loading and unloading provisions unto various naval ships. Ensure accurate counting and recording of all incoming and outgoing items. Sort, organize, and label supplies and equipment in designated storage areas. Pack and secure supplies for safe transportation. Prepare orders and validate accuracy against shipping instructions and documentation. Conduct inventory checks to maintain accurate stock levels and assist with inventory management. Complete and maintain paperwork and records related to shipping, receiving, and inventory control. Follow proper safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment. Collaborate with team members and management to ensure a smooth operation. Provide assistance in other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

WHAT YOU WILL NEED: High school diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred. Proven work experience as a laborer or in a similar role is a plus. Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions. Basic knowledge of inventory management and maintenance procedures. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Reliable and punctual.
