AWW1 Shift Hours are Friday, Saturday & Sunday 7AM-7PM
What You Will Do:
- Oversee daily forging operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are met
- Supervise and coordinate forge team members, including scheduling, task assignment, and performance management; address employee concerns, enforce policies, and maintain a positive team environment
- Monitor equipment (presses, furnaces) to ensure proper operation and coordinate with maintenance for repairs
- Enforce safety protocols, PPE compliance, and safe handling of high-temperature materials and heavy equipment; ensure adherence to work instructions, process specifications, and quality standards
- Identify and troubleshoot forging defects (e.g., underfill, cracks, laps) and implement corrective actions; collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve processes and resolve technical issues
- Track production metrics, downtime, and efficiency; report on KPIs to management; train and develop operators on forging techniques, equipment use, and standard work
- Manage material flow, including billet handling, heating cycles, and finished part movement; support continuous improvement initiatives (lean manufacturing, waste reduction, cycle time improvement)
- Maintain documentation, shift reports, and production records; coordinate shift handoffs to ensure continuity of operations
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
What You Will Learn
- Hands-on experience with forging processes, including material behavior at high temperatures and deformation techniques
- Deep understanding of forge equipment (presses, hammers, furnaces) and how to optimize their performance
- Advanced troubleshooting skills for common forging defects and process variability
- Leadership and team management skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- How to balance safety, quality, and production demands in real-time operations
- Exposure to cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Operations teams
- Data-driven decision-making using production metrics, KPIs, and efficiency tracking
- Continuous improvement methodologies such as lean manufacturing and waste reduction
- Best practices in workplace safety, hazard mitigation, and regulatory compliance
- Effective communication and escalation techniques within a structured manufacturing environment
- Planning and execution of production schedules to meet business targets
- Coaching, training, and developing a skilled hourly workforce
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 2 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or related environment or an Associate's Degree and 4 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or related environment
- In absence of a degree, High School diploma or equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or related industrial environment
- Understanding of internal and external customer expectations/requirements to resolving findings
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience in a supervisory/team lead capacity
- Understanding of CORE/Lean manufacturing tools and concepts
- SAP user experience

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
