What You Will Do:
The Manager, Quality Assurance, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) will be responsible for providing supervision, leadership, and strategic direction to the NDT inspection teams across multiple business units.
This role oversees NDT technicians, inspectors, team leads, and Level II/III personnel, ensuring compliance, technical excellence, and alignment with operational objectives. The Manager, Quality Assurance, NDT will drive continuous improvement, maintain certification rigor, uphold safety and quality standards, and champion process integrity in the inspection of aerospace components.
- Cultivate a culture of safety, quality compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement within the NDT function
- Apply CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence), Lean, and continuous improvement methodologies to improve NDT processes, inspection throughput, and delivery integrity; drive effective root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions using CORE problem-solving techniques
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, customer, and internal requirements related to NDT methods, certification levels, and inspection procedures
- Oversee the development, maintenance, and execution of NDT-related documentation including procedures, standards, work instructions, and qualification processes
- Support internal and external audits, customer inspections, and special process reviews; ensure timely closure of findings
- Provide coaching, performance management, and professional development for Level I, II, and III NDT personnel; guide teams through change initiatives, fostering collaboration and performance excellence
- Allocate NDT resources based on business needs and dynamically adjust workload priorities across shifts; ensure employees are adequately trained, certified, and working in a safe and environmentally sound manner
- Travel up to 25% to support customer needs, training, equipment validation, and issue resolution and flexibility around shifts/overlap to maintain workflow and support teams
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 8 years' experience in an aerospace, engineering, manufacturing operations, aerospace, quality or similar environment OR an Associate's degree and minimum 10 years' experience in an aerospace, engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or similar environment
- In the absence of a degree, a High School Diploma/GED and minimum 12 years' experience, in an aerospace, engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or similar environment
- Demonstrated experience leading quality initiatives on a shop floor
- Demonstrated success in leadership, coaching, and facilitation roles in high-stress and ambiguous environments
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Qualifications We Prefer:
- NDT Level III certification; multi-discipline capability highly desirable
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain Level III certification across multiple NDT methods
- Knowledge of shop practices, processes, and procedures including aerospace inspection standards
- Experience with Operational Excellence frameworks (e.g. CORE) and continuous improvement methodologies
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills with demonstrated capability in root cause analysis and implementing sustainable corrective actions
- Working knowledge of operations, new product, and process technologies
- Advanced analytical skills, data interpretation capability, and risk-based decision making
- Proficiency with SAP, and Solumina

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
