We are currently recruiting talent on behalf of our nonprofit network who has a position for a Janitorial Floor Technician! This position is part of the AbilityOne Program. Candidates selected to be an AbilityOne participating employee must provide documentation verifying a qualifying significant disability, as required by U.S. AbilityOne Commission policies. THE OPPORTUNITY: The Janitorial Floor Technician will be responsible for performing specialized janitorial floor work and care. Additionally, there may be other cleaning assignments on a day-to-day basis according to the specifications stated or as deemed necessary by the supervisor. WORK SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday, 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Occasional weekends and/or overtime depending on business need. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: Operating floor machines, stripping and waxing floors, scrubbing floors, buffing floors, carpet cleaning, and other janitorial functions as needed. Keeping equipment clean and operational and follows preventative maintenance schedule. Wearing safety equipment when and where required Cleaning (sweeps, mops, etc.) restrooms, entrances, warehouse, docks, stores, corridors, lobbies, and office floors Emptying trash receptacles daily Dusting appropriate areas Vacuuming carpets Other duties as assigned WHAT YOU WILL NEED: High School graduate or GED preferred. 2-5 years of janitorial services, including stripping, waxing, scrubbing, buffing, carpet cleaning, and operating commercial janitorial floor machinery Must be able to work independently after being given a directive and be a self-starter. Must know chemical and emergency procedures. Must identify and maintain the various floors installed in industrial and office establishments. Must be able to locate and operate the typical janitorial commercial floor machines used to clean industrial and office establishments. Must pass a background check and initial as well as random drug testing.
