GCCI Database Migration Lead Consultant
Location: Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara

Role: GCCI Database Migration Lead Consultant (L5)

Summary of the role and responsibilities:

• Analyze on premises transactional database environments such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, DB2, PostgreSQL, evaluate and plan migrations to AWS RDS, Aurora

• Develop/Enhance database PLSQL scripts/TSQL to migrate from source database to target database

• Identity workarounds for specific issues and corner scenarios observed during migration

• Automate solutions for repeatable problems

• Help design and implement AWS RDS and Aurora architectures and configurations for customer

• Consult for optimal design of database environments, analyzing complex distributed production deployments, and making recommendations to optimize performance

• Assist in migrating large (>5TB) databases across database engines - Oracle / SQL Server to

PostgreSQL Basic Qualifications:

• 10+ year of experience (3+ years working on Heterogeneous DB migration on AWS)

• AWS Services: Proficiency in a wide range of AWS services, including Ec2, S3, RDs, Lambda, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation, and others.

• Architecture design for PostgreSQL Database on AWS Cloud

• Strong expertise working with SQL Database and PostgreSQL DB (Must to have skill)

• Analyze on premise transactional database environments SQL Server, evaluate and plan migrations to AWS RDS/Aurora (Must to have skill)

• Migration and deployment of Database on Cloud.

• Automation and scripting in Cloud (e.g CloudFormation,Terraform )

• Experience with Heterogeneous database migrations from SQL Server to PostgreSQL Database Modernization from on-premises to AWS (Must have skill)

• Develop strategies and execute plans for seamless database migrations, refactor to Aurora PostgreSQL, database schema code conversion and data transformation to PostgreSQL

• AWS SCT and DMS tools expertise

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like AWS CDK, CloudFormation, and Terraform to automate the provisioning and management of database resources

• Experience in performance optimization, query tuning and database parameter tuning

• Good Troubleshooting skills

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

• AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Database Specialty Certified

• Good Communication skills

Preferred qualifications :

• Hands-on experience on AWS Services - RDS, Aurora, SCT, DMS

• Experience in ETL workflow management
