Director of Counseling and Alcohol and Other Drug Services
Under the direction of the Executive Director of the Kean Wellness Center, the Director of Counseling and Alcohol and Other Drug Services (Director 2) is a full-time, twelve-month managerial position responsible for the management, development and implementation of a comprehensive counseling program for the educational, personal and psychological support of students at Kean's multiple campus locations. The Director assists in the development of policy affecting the mental health environment of the University; oversees the delivery of clinical services and also supervises the Alcohol and Other Drug Services program; collaborates with other offices in the Wellness Center and other University departments to provide an integrated educational support and outreach service to students across all campuses; and does related work as required.
This position requires a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours. Travel is also required, including travel to Kean's New Jersey campus locations. This position assists the Executive Director with response to emergency situations and serves in a lead role on the university-wide trauma response team.
Qualifications: Doctorate degree in a related discipline; current New Jersey State licensure as a licensed psychologist, licensed professional counselor or licensed clinical social worker; and a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a college or university counseling center or related field is required. Five years of clinical supervision; demonstrated organizational and administrative responsibilities; and experience providing mental health prevention to a diverse population is preferred. Candidates with a Doctorate degree in a related discipline, New Jersey State licensure in a related profession and two years of post-licensure experience as listed above may also be considered as determined by the University. Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to use and integrate technology into the counseling experience.

In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Law, the annual salary range for this position is: $125,000 to $140,000. This position may also be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, a retirement plan and benefits for work life balance. Employment at Kean requires working at any of our New Jersey campus locations or affiliated work sites, which may include, but not be limited to: the main campus in Union; Kean Ocean in Toms River; Kean Skylands in Jefferson Township; Kean Jersey City; Kean at Brookdale in Middletown Township; Manahawkin; Princeton; and Trenton. Location assignments will be based on operational and university needs. Faculty may also be assigned to teach online classes for Kean Global.
