We are currently recruiting talent on behalf of our nonprofit network who has a position for a Director of Commercial Services! THE OPPORTUNITY: We are seeking a Director of Commercial Services to oversee, coordinate, and direct all departmental operations to maximize opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Ensure financial viability of contracts and customer satisfaction. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: Personnel Management Provide adequate and direct supervision to all employees and assigned volunteers in the department to ensure that work performance, safety, and security standards are met Follow and administer the organizations personnel policies consistently Set clear deadlines and measurable objectives, communicate expectations, and hold each employee in the department accountable Actively seek to resolve employee concerns while adhering to company policies Write introductory and annual performance appraisals which are honest, objective, and supported by specific documentation Engage employees in an interactive process of performance feedback and document all performance problem discussions Review, revise, and approve department employees timesheets prior to payroll Submit personnel documentation to Human Resource staff Address, monitor, and document department employees performance issues Provide disciplinary action when necessary Encourage department employees to grow their professional skills by sharing relevant trainings Manage department coverage and employee time off requests Participate in the hiring process by writing, revising, and reviewing job postings and job descriptions, reviewing applicant resumes, interviewing applicants, providing honest feedback, and hiring qualified applicants Ensure that each new employee in the department is provided with a thorough orientation to the department, the organization, and their job responsibilities Facilitate training for employees within the department that will ensure competency and best practices Write, review, and revise job descriptions for department employees to ensure that responsibilities are current and accurate Facilitate training for employees within the department that will ensure competency and best practices and schedule each employee for mandatory trainings as required by funding/regulatory agencies Manage program participant behaviors and productivity with the Bilingual Employment Support Professional Submit the necessary paperwork for employees to obtain daily passes and yearly badges to Picatinny Arsenal and other sites Manage department coverage and employee time off requests Ensure that the required ratio of disabled to non-disabled employees is maintained Ensure that employees who are assigned to perform time studies are properly trained, understand the concept and are consistent in their approach to ensure validity and compliance with Department of Labor guidelines Compliance Monitoring Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws Assist in the preparation of audits and accreditations Write, review, revise, and follow department policies and procedures according to industry best practices, and funder, local, state, federal, CARF requirements Ensure documentation throughout the department meets expectations and standards Complete annual review of a random sampling of files and documentation for quality and completion Prepare department employees for the CARF accreditation process Schedule and document employee attendance at mandatory trainings as required by funding/regulatory agencies Technical Duties Annually review and revise department policies and handbooks Ensure compliance with Ability One reporting requirements and all federal and state laws Develop an annual department budget with the Chief Financial Officer and review monthly performance and budgetary expectations Prepare quotes for reoccurring and one-time jobs Negotiate contract renewals Market cleaning services to building managers at Picatinny Arsenal and other potential sites to promote contract growth and stability Obtain the budgeted level of above baseline cleaning Establish procedures and make decisions in all administrative and supervisory matters for the successful operation of the CS department Ensure that terms of all contractual service agreements are met for Picatinny Arsenal and other contract sites Ensure that customer service issues are resolved promptly, appropriately, and meet the expectations of the Chief Financial Officer Work in tandem with the Chief Financial Officer on yearly contract renewals and new base wide contracts Oversee the preventative maintenance of all department vehicles and equipment and ensure documentation is maintained Ensure that regular safety meetings and inspections of facilities at Picatinny are conducted and documented and unsafe conditions remedied Maintain regular communication with the ARDEC Public Works Department to be aware of any dissatisfaction with services Act as back-up for Picatinny Project Manager and Quality Assurance Manager as needed Monitor the usage of supplies and equipment to ensure costs are minimized and optimum efficiency is achieved Review, approve, and complete Payment Authorization Forms expenditure authorizations for all contract sites prior to submission to Chief Executive Officer Keep informed on trends, promotional opportunities and competitive activity Follow-up on possible business opportunities Develop and implement business plans to achieve short and long-range strategies Submit a monthly report to the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer during the first week of each month Regularly preform quality assurance checks at Picatinny Arsenal and other contract sites Complete and submit Payroll Change Notices as needed Maintain membership on the Safety Committee Complete and submit Critical Incident Forms, Workers Compensation paperwork, and Concentra requests as needed Maintain daily sign in and van run sheets Perform other duties as assigned Non-Technical Duties Support the mission, vision, values, and goals of the organization Always treat program participants with dignity and respect in accordance with policies Ensure all work is accurate and completed in a timely manner Act with integrity and respect in all business and professional matters Actively participate as a member of the agencys management team Be committed to high standards of safety, confidentiality, and security and comply with all pertinent safety, confidentiality, and security policies and rules Maintain a positive attitude and philosophy that is consistent with the agencys values Always maintain professional demeanor and promote loyalty and pride in the organization Maintain regular and acceptable attendance and be available to work the necessary hours to meet business needs Participate in meetings and training programs when appropriate Be responsive to internal and external communication in a timely, courteous, and helpful manner Keep current on trends and new concepts related to the job Be receptive to ideas from program participants and employees about work procedures Promote the inclusion of individuals who are challenged by disabilities or other disadvantages in the workplace Promote attitudinal changes in the public and private sectors toward people with disabilities or other disadvantages Work collaboratively with the Board of Trustees, employees, families, business partners and program participants to support the activities and mission of the organization Non-Essential Duties Maintain and order office and kitchen supplies Answer calls to the Picatinny officeRequirements
WHAT YOU WILL NEED: Ability to support the mission of the organization Bachelors degree in Business, Project Management, or a related field 2+ years of supervisory experience in contract-based environments, including oversight of staff performing services under active customer or government contracts with preference to janitorial/custodial services contracts Excellent written and oral communication skills Commitment to excellent customer service and high safety standards Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Google Suite Excellent organization, planning, and multi-tasking skills A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Maintain an even temperament in stressful situations Excellent frustration tolerance and adaptability Good analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work a flexible schedule A valid drivers license NICE TO HAVE: Experience working with individuals with disabilities or other barriers to employment Bilingual in Spanish Knowledge of janitorial and grounds keeping services, contract management, and government contracts ENVIRONMENT: The employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to use their hands or fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
