This position is with a nonprofit organization participating in the AbilityOne Program, which creates employment opportunities for people who are blind or have significant disabilities. Candidates selected for an AbilityOne position must provide documentation verifying a qualifying significant disability, as required by program policies. WHY THIS ROLE STANDS OUT The Custodian will be responsible for performing custodial duties on a day-to-day basis according to the specifications stated or as deemed necessary by the Lead Custodian, Custodial Supervisor. WORK SCHEDULE Monday to Friday, 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Occasional weekends and/or overtime depending on business need. WHAT YOU WILL DO Cleans (sweeps, mops, etc.) restrooms, garage, docks, corridors, office floors, and entrances Empties trash containers daily Dusts appropriate areas Vacuum Carpets Keeps equipment clean and follows preventive maintenance schedule Wear safety equipment when and where required Periodically buff, strip and wax floors Occasionally move furniture and set-up areas for special occasions, grounds maintenance (police outside areas) Other duties as assigned

Requirements

WHAT YOU BRING High School graduate or GED preferred. Prior custodial experience. Must be able to work independently after being given a directive. Must know chemical and emergency procedures once trained. Must be able to pass drug test (as well as random testing) and a background checks.
