As a Meta Business Engineer, you will grow industries by identifying new features, products, and business opportunities and enable partner businesses to realize the full potential of those opportunities. You will produce scalable code across Meta's platforms in collaboration with other product engineering teams. This role will allow you to execute on solving real-world business challenges through Meta's platforms and community.Meta's Business Engineering team is comprised of creative problem solvers and strategic software engineers who collaborate with clients to understand their challenges and architect solutions. We are at the intersection of business and engineering, helping Meta's marketing and advertising partners succeed and reach their business goals with Meta products, by finding technology solutions to meet their needs. We are passionate about working closely with our external clients and partners across many industries - travel, retail, e-commerce, gaming, financial services, automotive, entertainment and beyond.

Business Engineer Responsibilities:

• Build new products and improve existing ones in collaboration with Meta product engineering teams to meet business needs
• Understand and apply knowledge of products, technologies and business to build solutions to solve for problems at scale
• Independently identify stakeholders and align cross functional partners towards completion of project goals
• Independently break down coding projects into tasks and partner with all applicable teams and partners
• Design and build end-to-end systems and launch-plan strategies
• Ship and launch production level code with an emphasis on long-term maintainability, in partnership with all appropriate reviewers, in manageable pieces with relevant documentation and test plans
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback while quickly actioning feedback from code reviews conducted of your code
• Build and foster relationships with internal and/or external stakeholders
• share project updates and insights
• influence decision-making through presentation of data-centric business topics
• Serve as a subject matter expert within Business Engineering and provide consultation on domain-level projects
• Participate in interviewing and onboarding of new team members

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience in shipping production quality code in popular programming languages and frameworks
• Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or relevant field, or equivalent practical experience
• Fluent in Mandarin as the role is forward-deployed and external-facing and will need to interact with Chinese clients including frequent travels in mainland China

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with contributing to the development community (blogs, Stack Overflow, Quora, slack, etc.)
• Experience working in highly collaborative environments
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
• Experience contributing to open source projects, shared code repositories, and/or personal projects
