Job Summary:

Oversees all aspects of contract management including risk management, specification compliance, scope development, and analysis, negotiation and ongoing compliance with terms and conditions through execution. Provides oversight and direction regarding assigned team, financial and operational activities.

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Identifies critical issues associated in reviewing assigned contracts for the US and EMEA region
  • Ensures completeness and accuracy when applying Avnet's legal risk standards to contract escalations submitted to the global legal team designated escalation point of contact.
  • Works with a variety of stakeholderand legal representativesto negotiate changes to existing contracts.
  • Provides redlined recommendations and negotiates directly with customer/supplier, as applicable, until consensus has been reached on the contract.
  • Identifies requirements and risks, and works with others in the company to help minimize contract risk and maximize contract profitability on contracts.
  • Provides unique services and assistance in support of global business relationships between regions.
  • Provides guidance to direct reports on contract matters, e.g., redlines, internal escalation document accuracy and summarization of key points, identifying R&A.
  • Recruits and trains all staff including new hires with the support of the global legal team
  • Serves as liaison between contracts group and business leaders as needed.
  • Provides team management on matters assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Job Level Specifications:
  • Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of business or technical support teams comprised of individual contributors. Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion. May coordinate work activities with other supervisors.
  • Directs routine and repetitive operations of team.
  • Assignments are largely established in accordance with schedules and deliverables. Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plans.
  • Ability to work independently with exercise of judgement and discretion.
  • Collaborates daily with direct reports and peers within similar functions primarily for the purpose of exchanging information.
  • Decisions have a direct impact on team operations. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results may cause delays in schedules and require the allocation of additional time, people and/or financial resources


  • Work Experience:
  • Typically 4+ years relevant work experience
  • Team lead experience


  • Education and Certification(s):
  • Master's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained


  • Distinguishing Characteristics:
  • Fluency in English and German (written and verbal).
  • Interpreting and applying understanding of financial terms.
  • Experience working in global corporation
