As a Quality Instructor at Collins Aerospace, you'll play a hands-on role in shaping the next generation of manufacturing excellence. You'll bring complex quality standards to life-teaching technicians and inspectors how to apply workmanship and process specifications with precision and consistency. Your work ensures that every product built meets the rigorous standards that define Collins Aerospace's reputation for reliability and innovation.
This position blends technical expertise with teaching impact. You'll work closely with production teams, subject matter experts, and fellow instructors to maintain the highest levels of quality training across our Coralville and Cedar Rapids sites. Whether you're demonstrating proper build techniques, certifying new processes, or helping implement continuous improvement initiatives, your instruction will directly influence the safety, performance, and craftsmanship of our products that keep the world flying safely.
What You Will Do:
- Obtain certification to present and facilitate technical quality training related to process specifications and workmanship standards
- Teach and demonstrate principles, techniques, procedures, and/or methods of building or inspecting product
- Maintain inventory levels and order materials, supplies and Equipment needed for training courses
- Evaluate participant competency to ensure understanding of materials
- Supports implementation of continuous improvement into training
- Provide input in the content of courses to ensure understanding of materials
- Interact with subject matter experts and other instructors to ensure technical accuracy of learning modules
- Maintain knowledge of best practices and processes utilized on the production floor
- Provide training across sites may be needed. Up to 25% travel may be required

Education / Experience Needed:
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
- Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident "Green Card" holder
- 100% English skills required
- Ability and willingness to travel to multiple sites up to 30%
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Current IPC certification(s) or previous solder experience
- Familiarity with Continuous Improvement Practices
- Ability to manage complex course offerings and curriculum development.
- Knowledge and Experience in Mechanical Assembly including lock wire, torque tools and application, use of gauges and measurement devices

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
