Raytheon's Advanced Airborne Radio Frequency department has an immediate opening for a Principal Systems Engineer who is committed and passionate about creating innovative and cost-effective EW solutions to support the Electronic Warfare business area relating to Electronic Support (ES) and Electronic Attack (EA) capability development.
What You Will Do
- Support firmware development and integration for Electronic Systems (ES) and Electronic Assemblies (EA) performance
- Lead government EW performance testing
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all firmware development and debugging activities for Electronic Assemblies (EA)
- Determine what the requirements should be for a product or system based on information from the customer and provide traceability for these requirements
- Capture requirements in specific documents such as specifications and interface control documents.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 8 years of EW/Radar systems design and requirements engineering experience
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance with investigation within five years
- Model Based Systems Engineering (Cameo Enterprise Architecture (SysML specifically), digital thread concepts, digital engineering, MBSE with DevSecOps).
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information and data for reports and presentations
- Modeling and Simulation, agile DevSecOps delivery pipelines, software development principals, Digital Thread concepts and realization in the development lifecycle.
- Matlab/Simulink, DOORS, DNG, Cameo, Jira, and Confluence.
- Earned Value Management / Cost Account Management experience

The salary range for this role is 112,000 USD - 224,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
