We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manufacturing Test Engineer. You will utilize team discipline experts to provide technical day-to-day support and drive enhancement and reliability projects for our manufacturing test equipment. This position works with internal customers and external suppliers to define and implement future production equipment, upgrade, and maintain existing equipment.
What You Will Do
- Primary point of contact for questions about product testing as related to data acquisition, related computer systems, software and networking interconnectivity.
- Work with Systems Engineer as required to convert test requirements into software tasks. Supervise task assignments for software engineers to ensure that their skills and effectively used and tasks are completed.
- Exercise oversight of test equipment data acquisition system design, and integration with relevant business systems. Provide oversight of internal design processes to minimize scope creep and subsequent cost overruns.
- Extensive experience with LabVIEW software development with an understanding of object-oriented coding as well as National Instruments Test Stand.
- Experience developing and using National Instruments Test Stand software for managing test sequences.
- Coach team members to increase understanding of test stand systems, their operation and interaction with data acquisition and control systems and the units under test.
- Work with operators and technical teams to troubleshoot test equipment and implement process improvements.
- Assist equipment suppliers with troubleshooting test equipment during acceptance, startup and operation as required to validate conformance to testing requirements.
- Participate / lead peer reviews of specifications, designs, and concepts for test and manufacturing equipment, components, and systems.
- Functional knowledge of electrical systems: transformers, drives, motors, instrumentation, controls and their interplay.
- Ability to provide training to operators and other staff on the usage of software and stand operation as appropriate.
- Manage local and cloud-based test equipment software repositories.
- Manage upgrades of test DAQ systems and associated computers.
- Administer local cyber security gateways for production test labs.
- Internal drive to execute work with little or no direct guidance.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with LabView
- Experience with machine tools, welding, and other shop equipment and proper usage
- Experience with ladder logic and application of instrumentation in control systems

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
