Description

Position Purpose

Provides safe operation of grooming machines to ensure the highest quality snow surface possible for guests of the Dartmouth Skiway.

Required Qualifications

Basic knowledge/understanding of large machinery

• Good communications skills and patience
• Ability to create quality snow and snow surface
• Ability to operate a groomer
• Must be able to work independently
• Must hold a valid driver's license and be qualified under the terms of the Dartmouth College Driver Safety and Motor Vehicle Policy

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working outdoors
• High school graduate or equivalent

Key Accountabilities

• Operates groomer to ensure highest quality of groomed snow surfaces.
• Maintains quality control of snow surfaces to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Inspects and monitors equipment, promptly reporting any issues.
• Accurately completes paperwork involving daily logs and maintenance reports.
• Assists snowmaking teams in transportation, surface maintenance and other duties as needed.
• Assists in maintenance duties related to snowmaking and mountain operations systems including but not limited to parking lots, timbering operations, and building maintenance.
• Assists mountain operations with snow and ice mitigation including shoveling, sanding.
• Follows all policies and procedures of the Dartmouth Skiway.
