Description
Infosys is hiring for GCP and Kafka Lead to manage and support our enterprise-grade Kafka infrastructure. The ideal candidate will lead the support team in maintaining high availability, performance, and reliability of Kafka clusters, while also driving incident resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.

 -  At least 4 years of Information Technology experience. 
 -  Candidates must be located within commuting distance of Houston, TX or must be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel to project location 
 - Experience in Kafka administration and support.
 - Strong understanding of Kafka internals (brokers, topics, partitions, replication, retention).
 - Experience with Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams, and Schema Registry.
 - Experience with AWS, Kinesis, ETL Informatica, CDC, Postgres
 - Proficiency in Linux, shell scripting, and monitoring tools.
 - Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
 - Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
 - Experience in supporting Kafka in cloud environments (AWS, GCP).
 
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in Kafka administration and support.
 - Proficiency in programming languages such as Scala, Java, or Python
 - Monitor, maintain, and optimize Apache Kafka clusters in production and non-production environments.
 - Handle Kafka-related incidents, service requests, and problem tickets.
 - Ensure high availability and fault tolerance of Kafka services.
 - Lead a small team of Kafka support engineers.
 - Coordinate with development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams for issue resolution and enhancements.
 - Act as the primary point of contact.
 - Implement and maintain monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk) for Kafka health and performance.
 - Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and log analysis.
 - Drive automation of routine support tasks and deployments.
 - Maintain detailed documentation of Kafka configurations, support procedures, and incident reports.
 - Ensure compliance with security and audit requirements.
 
The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
