Summary: This position provides leadership for regional partnerships, grant development, and alignment with the experiential and community-based learning goals of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS). The role concentrates on planning, coordinating, and implementing initiatives that link PK-16 learning with workforce and career development opportunities and increasing the connection and awareness of CLAS Center for Experiential Learning (CCEL) and the Regional Math and Science Center (RMSC) to our broader stakeholder groups.
Primary Duties
Program & Project Management
- Develop and sustain strategic partners for the purpose of supporting the CCEL programs and projects.
- Oversee project timelines and work plans to ensure milestones are achieved.
- Track deliverables, manage risks, and report progress to leadership and stakeholders.
- Provide support and coordinate promotion for CCEL and RMSC experiential learning and outreach programs.
Strategic Alignment & Planning
- Support the mission, vision, values of GVSU, CLAS, and CCEL in building business and community partnerships in West Michigan and across Michigan.
- Conduct needs assessments to identify gaps and opportunities for program improvement.
- Align project objectives with institutional priorities and accreditation/assessment requirements.
- Execute a sustainable fundraising plan that includes activities, financial goals, identifying target audiences, evaluation, and timelines for CCEL and RMSC programs.
Partnership Development
- Develop and cultivate business and community partnerships to build and support CCEL's career-connected programs and RMSC's STEM outreach and engagement programs and events.
Continuous Improvement
- Collect and analyze data to evaluate program impact and recommend process improvements.
- Stay current with best practices in project management, education, and experiential learning.
Other Duties
- Perform other duties as required/assigned by leadership.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor's degree.
- Strong understanding of business and industry, preferably in the West Michigan region.
- Ability to think strategically and create a regional strategic plan.
- Experience working in K-12 or higher education settings.
- Ability to conduct a needs assessment, identifying already-existing practices and required additions.
- Proficiency with various communication and productivity tools (Microsoft Office, etc.).
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Master's degree.
- Expertise in organizational theory and strategic planning.
- Experience in fund development and fundraising.
- Experience in grant writing.
- Experience in event planning.
- Experience working collaboratively with teams.

Minimum Starting Salary: $58,800, commensurate with experience.

Department: The CLAS Center for Experiential Learning (CCEL) connects GVSU faculty, staff, and students with community, business, and industry partners to create and support K-16 experiential and career-connected learning opportunities. Through collaboration across the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, CCEL advances high-impact learning, civic engagement, and workforce readiness by linking classroom learning with real-world experiences. The Regional Math and Science Center (RMSC), established in the late 1980s, operates within CCEL to deliver STEM-focused professional development, camps, and community outreach that strengthen educational pathways across West Michigan.
College: The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) is the largest college at Grand Valley, offering over 50 bachelor's degrees and a growing number of advanced degrees in the natural and mathematical sciences, the fine arts and humanities, and the social sciences.
